Balboa Park in San Diego, USA
Larger than New York’s Central Park and home to more museums than any other urban park in the United States – Balboa Park is amazing for locals and travellers alike – it even has free Wi-Fi! I was awe-struck when I entered the Park on my first day of exploring San Diego and made sure to visit it every day I was in town.
Not only is it a sprawling city park with walking trails, forests and open green spaces, Balboa Park is also home to the world-famous San Diego Zoo, museums housed in the most beautiful and detailed buildings I’ve seen in North America, a Japanese Garden, a cactus garden, a rose garden, and a botanical garden. I couldn’t believe how much there was to do and see. I even took a free walking tour that focused on the architecture of the park. The beauty of the Park has touched me deeply and I hope to walk its paths again someday!
