Taman Tasik Perdana in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Erin from Welcome to Erin’s World
I first went to Taman Tasik Perdana about a week after moving to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. My boyfriend had wanted to take me to see the deer in the deer park. Unfortunately, the deer park was closed, but we were still able to feed them through the fence.
After that, we often spent entire afternoons in Taman Tasik Perdana – also called Lake Garden Park – as it’s only a few minutes away. It’s not the largest or most elaborate park in the city, but it is beautiful. In the middle is a large lake with fountains and an island. On the island are trees and a large group of ducks that alternate between sunning themselves in the grass and floating in the water. Around the lake are flagstone pathways, manicured flower gardens, an herb garden, covered pavilions and large play areas for children. One of my favorite places to go was the French-style garden with the walkways covered in vines and flowers.
Most times I just wandered around and enjoyed how pretty and peaceful it was. There are these large trees with treehouse-type platforms built partway up them with bushes around the railings so you feel like you’re in your own little tree garden. After feeding the ducks or swinging on the swings, I’d go sit in the trees and enjoy a book.
