Munich in Winter

Munich, Germany

Mel from Everything I Wished For

For me, nothing sums up a magical winter quite like Munich. The Bavarian capital is utterly stunning in the winter months when it is surrounded by snowy mountains and crisp cold air. The city hosts one of the best Christmas Markets in Europe, and even after the Christmas rush it is the perfect place to enjoy a hot chocolate and some gingerbread. Nymphenburg Palace, The Antiquarium in the Munich Residenz, Marienplatz and of course a beer in the famous Hofbrauhaus are all top of my list to visit in the city.

Berlin, Germany

Berlin in the winter is everything you could imagine. The Christmas Markets really get you in the spirit with jolly music, fire pits and homemade crafts. The smell of the bratwursts and sausages are enough to make you drool. There are pop up bars, restaurants and shops. You can roam through the widespread markets all day. It’s truly an event to go see!

Berlin is the perfect winter destination because it has it all: world-class Christmas markets, cozy cafes with perfect coffee, excellent bars, the world’s greatest clubs, fascinating museums, festivals and galleries, and a unique history and culture.

Spend your days enjoying long and lazy brunches, followed by strolls through the snow-covered, street-art decorated streets. Pop into one of the many amazing coffee shops when the cold gets too much, or take your pick of delicious street food on offer. At night, linger over great food before dancing till sunrise in the world’s best clubs.

Berlin is just so, so cool, and cheap.thetraveloguer.com-brandenberggate
