Bass Lake, California, USA
Kirsten from Travelling DASH
Beautiful Bass Lake, oh how I miss you. This tiny gem is located about 4.5 miles south of Yosemite. So if you can’t get a campsite right in Yosemite, this is the next best place!
There are multiple different campsites, all of which are wonderful. We stayed at Wishon Point where we lucked out and got a site with a lake view.
Can I just say, WOW! Waking up to the sun glistening off the lake with some deliciously French-pressed coffee that was heated over a fire is not a bad way to start, especially when you normally live in the city!
If you need to get a few extra supplies or just want to grab a quick bite before getting in the boat, Millers Landing is the spot. With a grill and a mini market you will be all set for a day on the water.
Awesome hiking as well! Spring Cove Trail is just past Miller’s Landing (North of Wishon Point). That T-Bones with Goat Mountain trail where you can either hike south to the Lookout or north where you’ll end up back in town.
