World’s Smallest Circus

“We’re still following The Pond, right?” It’s dark (Iceland in winter), snowy (Iceland in winter), and cold (Iceland in winter), and Maria and I are trying to find a circus tent. A white circus tent.

“If you mean that frozen body of water to our left, then yeah.”

My eyes focus on something red and white in the park. It looks like a concessions stand…or a ticket booth…or…Woah! My brain registers the gigantic snow-covered tent beside the booth. “There it is,” I point my finger in the direction of the tent.

Maria squints in the direction I’m pointing. “Oh, yeah, that could be it.” She doesn’t seem convinced, but we set off that way regardless.

We’re halfway across The Pond when Maria stops. “Woah.”

“What?”

“There’s a tent.”

“Yeah. What did you think I was pointing at?”

“The striped thing next to it.”

“…Were you thinking, maybe it’s underground?”

“Or the world’s smallest circus.”

“T.A.R.D.I.S. circus.”

We exchange a glance, then burst out laughing.
