I have talented friends.
My friend and flatmate, Andrea Koelink, was such a sweetheart to volunteer to design a new logo for us. She was working with very little direction (“orange,” I said, “orange and girly. But literary, too.” Oglaya weighed in with “maybe pastel blue and pink.”) Anyway, after a few iterations and modifications, Andrea sent us this:
She was also kind enough to design us our very own patterned background (so the page you’re staring at now, you know the cool blue/gray pattern in the bg? Yeah, she made that. She made that, y’all.)
If you want to procure your very own unique logo and background, she available for hire. Check out her website!
She is also currently hard at work on her own line of patterned tights. So keep an eye out for them!
What better way to celebrate a new logo than by listening to love songs?
Ok, so maybe I have been listening to The Cure’s Mint Car on repeat for the last few days…I just think it’s the best. Also, there were lots of love songs featured in my last character sketch. Then I started making a playlist of my favorite songs about love (not all of them are happy). AND NOW I’d like to share a few of them with you. Because that’s how I roll. Yep.
Danger! High Voltage by Electric Six
because sometimes you just can’t help touching each other.
I Love You Always Forever by Donna Lewis
it’s just so catchy.
Glory Box by Portishead
probably the sexiest song ever written.
A Sunday Kind of Love by Etta James
one of my fave by Miss Jamesetta
Is This Love? by Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
for the days you just want to jump up and down and shout about love.
I’ll Follow You Into the Dark by Deathcab for Cutie
love how sweet and sincere this song is.
I Melt with You by Modern English
just…love it, especially the vocals.
Fall Hard by Shout Out Louds
who doesn’t love some good Swedish indie pop-rock?
Mint Car by The Cure
